This scenic treks in the Putao plain will takes you to beautiful Rawang villages near Putao. This is the easy trek suitable for anyone with good fitness level. This itinerary includes overnight stay at Putao Lodge Hotel. This itinerary aim to introduce the wonderful land with distinctive culture and unique lifestyle of native people in Rawang villages.
Putao
Situate 457 meters above sea level, lies in a flat valley, famous as a jumping-off point for trekkers who want to explore the region’s deep forests, wildlife sanctuaries and snowcapped mountains.
Namkham
Located on the bank of Malikha River at the bottom of Namhti mountain range. Originally by Hkamti Shan name meaning “golden river”, has become the centre of cultivation place for the fruits that first missionary team has introduced thus today famous for its sweet fruits production.
Machanbaw
Located across Malikha River, connected by beautiful Malikha suspension bridge.
Mulashidi
Meaning in Lisu “the village stands in the thatch field along Mula River”. Beautifully set up Lisu village lies 14 km south of Putao connected by 159 meters long suspension bridge and provides a fascinating view to the mountains as a backdrop.

Day – 1 (Tuesday): Putao (arrival)
Day – 2 (Wednesday): Putao – Htawadum – Namkham (jeep/ trek)
Day – 3 (Thursday): Namkham – Machanbaw – Nat Kyun – Mulashidi – Putao (trek/boat/jeep)
Day – 4 (Friday): Putao (departure) – onward journey

Detailed Itinerary
Day-1 (Tuesday): Putao (arrival)
Arrival in Putao. Upon arrival at Putao airport you will be met by Putao Trekking house’s representative and transferred to Putao Trekking House. Putao lies in a flat valley, jumping-off point for trekkers who want to explore the region’s deep forests, wildlife sanctuaries and snow-capped mountains etc. After a brief fresh up take a walk around Putao for the orientation. Dinner and overnight at Putao Trekking House. (_, _, D)
Day-2 (Wednesday): Putao – Htawadum – Namkham (jeep/ trek)
Early in the morning walk to Putao market (approx 10 minute), visit attractive market often busy with local ethnic tribes. Return to hotel, breakfast and depart by jeep/truck through the vast Putao plain on pebbled road to Htawadum (14 km, approx one hour). Cross Malikha River by suspension bridge to visit famous Kanugmulon Pagoda, said to be one of the 84000 pagodas built by Thiri Dhamma Thawka, the great king. Proceed walking toward Salundum but turn to Nampandum from Lona suspension bridgeLunch stop and continue walk to Namkham (5 km, approx 3 hours) along smaller villages such as Salundum and Htrandum etc. Namkham, a large Rawan village, situates at the bottom of Namhti mountain range which in rich with biodiversity of flora and fauna. Name after Hkamti Shan name meaning “Golden River” has became the centre of cultivation place for the fruits that Father Robert Moss has introduced thus to day famous for its sweet fruits production. Settle in at your guesthouse and walk around the village. Dinner and overnight at local guest house. (B,L,D)
Day-3 (Thursday): Namkham – Machanbaw – Nat Kyun – Mulashidi – Putao (trek/boat/jeep)
After breakfast, start the walk to Machanbaw (15 km, approx 6 hours) through relatively low land terrain with occasionally ups and downs passing through some smaller villages such as Inwaingbaw and Inbubaw. Machanbaw is a small administrative town ex-Putao with beautifully set up colonial style town. Visit so-called “stone dragon” park which should take about 20 minute walk and cross a suspension bridge spans across Malikha river to Naungkhine. Board on local fishermen boat and leisurely cruise down in the Malikha River enjoying the sights and sounds of the natural environment. This part of the river journey is one of the most beautiful spots in the wilderness world having high reef with lush tropical evergreen forests. Pack lunch at the sand bank and afternoon return up stream by boat to Naungkhine jetty and take you to Mulashidi Lisu village (35 km, approx one hour). Visit the attractive Lisu settlement and another suspension bridge across Mula River. Enjoy beautiful surrounding often back-drop with snow-capped mountains in distance. Return back to Putao and check in at hotel. Dinner and overnight at Putao Lodge. (B, L, D)
Day-4 (Friday): Putao (departure) – onward journey
Breakfast and perhaps a last minute shopping at Putao market and further visit in and around Putao with suggestion by your guide. Lunch and afternoon transfer to airport for your onward departure flight to conclude this unique experience. (B,L, _)

Current season air fares between Putao and Yangon, Mandalay and Myitkyinar are US$245, US$150 and US$100 per person each way and subject to changes by airlines for the following seasons. We can arrange your flights on request.
