Putao
Putao, the northern most treasure of Myanmar. Surrounded by icy snowy mountains and their peaceful isolation, the charm of Putao differs in many ways from the main land Myanmar. The most pristine Himalayan atmosphere laden with friendly tribes and minorities such as Kachin, Rawang, Lisu and some others, Putao invites those who wish to see the total different world. With a sign of a footprint of Christian missionary, the town is filled with small churches, Christians along with few Buddhists. Farming, gold panning, mining, hunting, looking for medicinal herbs are the typical way of life in Putao. Putao is an ideal paradise for rich tribal culture, ecological explorations, rafting, trekking or just to enjoy the scenic leisurely atmosphere.
